Bright Sparks!
We launched our Bright Sparks topic with an afternoon of electricity activities and games!
On Tuesday 20th November, Foxes class enjoyed a variety of activities to launch our ‘Bright Sparks’ topic. We used Snap Circuits, kindly donated by Mrs Saberton, and other components of an electrical circuit to see if we could light a bulb, make a buzzer buzz or make a propeller fly off a motor. We played the Buzz Wire Challenge, which was tricky, researched some facts about the history of electricity on laptops and wrote some questions that we wanted to find out the answers to during our topic. Abigail’s Great Aunty kindly let us borrow their game of Operation; there were lots of ooos and aaahs as we tried to get the parts of the body out using the tweezers without making it buzz! We discovered through this that metal tweezer touching metal on the Operation game completed the circuit to make the buzzer buzz!
We’ve been able to play these games and explore these activities further during wet play this week too and are looking forward to becoming electricians over the coming weeks!
