Hedgehogs is where the learning begins at Witchampton. Our class is small, very supportive and an ideal place to make friends and explore lots of different learning experiences. Mrs Jenkinson teaches the children every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Mrs Dimmick teaches the children every Wednesday. Miss Batey supports the class at the start of the day throughout the week.
Mrs Jenkinson is the Early Years Leader in the school and loves to see how the children learn and develop throughout the year. She has a close relationship with Little Owls pre-school and visits and links up whenever possible. She also runs the Recorder Club in school and teaches the children how to Maypole Dance in the Summer Term! She is also Deputy Safeguarding Lead and responsible for Worship and Godly Play within the school.
Mrs Dimmick is responsible for R.E, Phonics and Reading across the school and enjoys taking Art and Sewing Club too.
We have our very own garden and outside area so the children have the opportunity to learn inside and outside. We link up with Jazmin from Little Owls pre-school, who leads our weekly Forest School sessions held in the school grounds. The learning is both adult led and child initiated.
As you may have heard, Fluffy is our cuddly, class pet. Every week-end she has an adventure with someone at their house. This gives them a chance to develop their speaking and listening skills and is very popular. She has been to the park, on shopping trips, to birthday parties and even to the beach.
We are really excited that your child has joined the Witchampton family and look forward to seeing you in Hedgehogs!
